Who we are

A Higher Standard, Brought Home

Turf Envy is owned and run by Matt Sutton, a graduate of the Stockbridge School of Agriculture at UMass Amherst with a degree in Turf Grass Management. Before starting Turf Envy, Matt developed his eye for detail working on professional golf courses — where the tolerance for an uneven cut, a patchy fertilizer application or a sloppy edge is close to zero.

That background shapes how Turf Envy runs today: a scientific, soil-first approach to lawn care (starting with the fact that most South Shore soil is naturally acidic and needs correcting before fertilizer can do its job) paired with the same attention to detail on hardscape and landscape projects — a patio base compacted properly, a retaining wall with real drainage behind it, plantings chosen for the actual site conditions instead of what’s on sale.

Today, Turf Envy is a fully insured landscape and hardscape company serving homeowners and businesses across Abington and the South Shore, with real Google reviews from clients pointing to the same things again and again: clear communication, careful work, and pricing that’s fair without being the cheapest option on the block.
